CASSELMAN, Ontario - Menuiserie Casselman Woodshop, from Groupe Convex, has been granted financial support from the Yves-Landry Foundation, in collaboration with the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), through the AIME Initiative - Achieving Innovation & Manufacturing Excellence.
The Yves Landry Foundation facilitates opportunities for technological education and training through enlightened partnerships among industry, education and government. With this focus on education and training, the Foundation serves as a national voice supporting Canada's goal for global leadership in manufacturing.
“The Federal Government recognizes the challenges faced by manufacturers in the province of Ontario, in this time of economic turbulence. We strongly believe in the importance of innovation and for this, manufacturers need to enhance their employees’ skills, to become more competitive” said Pierre Lemieux, MP for Glengarry Prescott-Russell.
For Groupe Convex’s Executive Director, this approval is a demonstration that the federal government supports their small community businesses and realizes all of its benefits, for Prescott-Russell and for the entire region.
With this financial assistance, Menuiserie Casselman Woodshop will provide in house training on new equipments, for its employees. Theses new technological skills and competencies among their employees, will allow the company to expand its operations through exportation.
