Pierre participated in the Dunvegan Winter Carnival and attended the carnival breakfast.  Pierre is seen here flipping a pancake with the cooking crew of Lynn MacGillivary, Robert Linney Greg Byers and Dennis Ranger

Pierre joined many hundreds of people at the St Bernardin Winter Carnival dinner.  He sampled many of the homemade desserts under the watchful eyes of Micheline Boucher and Lisette Lalonde.
Pierre visited with little Alexia (9 months old) and her mother Shannon Dupont at the St Bernardin Winter Carnival Dinner.  Pierre met Shannon last year at the St Bernardin dinner, and while Alexia was there too, she was harder to meet as she was just waiting to be born.
Pierre celebrated the parish of Sacre-Coeur’s historic 125th anniversary in Bourget.  Pierre presented a personal congratulatory letter from Prime Minister Stephen Harper and an MP certificate to Fr Louis Fohssié, Fr Étienne Mfuni-Beya and Ronald Fournier of the 125th Anniversary Organizing Committee
Pierre and colleague Guy Lauzon are bringing fellow Conservative Ministers and Members of Parliament from Ottawa to hit the ice against a team of Glengarry V.I.P.s. The funds raised will go to support the Glengarry Memorial Hospital foundation. The game will also support Alexandria’s quest to be Hockeyville. I encourage you to attend this historic event.

Pierre Delivers $25,000 in Support of Mike Deans Grocery in Bourget

Pierre, MPP Jean Marc Lalonde, Mayor Richard Lalonde and councillors Gary Edwards and Guy Desjardins helped celebrate the grand opening of the Mike Deans Grocery in Bourget.  At this special occasion, Pierre announced $25,000 in federal funding, through the Prescott-Russell Community Development Corporation, to help with the training and formation of new employees within the grocery store.  He is seen here presenting a certificate and a ceremonial cheque to Mike Deans.

Pierre and his Team Take on Glengarry VIP’s in Fundraising Hockey Game: Hospital Wins!
Pierre and colleague MP Guy Lauzon are working closely with Glengarry Sports Hall of Fame and Roxane Robertson of the Glengarry Memorial Hospital to organize a hockey game between Conservative MPs and Ministers (including Defence Minister Peter MacKay and Environment Minister Jim Prentice) and the local Glengarry community on Tuesday March 9th 2010...

Dawn MacDuff, a local resident of Glengarry-Prescott-Russell from L’Orignal, happened to meet Prime Minister Stephen Harper at a Senators game.  She had the opportunity to chat with Prime Minister and learned that the middle name of his daughter Rachel is also Dawn.

Pierre organized a very successful passport clinic in the Vankleek Hill arena.  Pierre and his team processed approximately 75 passport applications.  Mayor Gary Barton and Councillor Paul Emile Duval also dropped in to express their appreciation for having hosted the clinic in Vankleek Hill.

The Township of Russell Breaks Ground on Three Community Improvement Projects

The Township of Russell today celebrated the start of three projects that will improve local transportation and recreation facilities. Pierre Lemieux, MP for Glengarry-Prescott-Russell; Jean-Marc Lalonde, MPP for Glengarry-Prescott-Russell; and Ken Hill, Mayor for the Township of Russell were pleased to see these important community infrastructure projects move forward.

Governments of Canada, Ontario and the Town of Hawkesbury Celebrate New Affordable Housing  

The Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario, the United Counties of Prescott and Russell and the Town of Hawkesbury today celebrated the start of construction of 24 affordable rental units. The project is supported by $2.88 million in funding through the Canada-Ontario Affordable Housing Program.

Pierre was proud to participate in the arrival of the Olympic Flame in Hawkesbury. Everyone had an excellent time celebrating this historic event !

Pierre invites everyone, especially farmers, to his upcoming Spring Gala 2010, to be held Saturday, March 6 th, 2010 at the Wendover Community Centre. Previous galas hosted by Mr. Lemieux, featuring special guests Foreign Affairs Minister Laurence Cannon, Finance Minister Jim Flaherty and Senator Mike Duffy, were tremendously successful, as evidenced by the large number of attendees who enjoyed the evenings !
