Pierre and MPP Grant Crack joined the Entre
Amis Club members in Lefaivre for their
annual Christmas dinner. The dinner was a tremendous
success and very well attended. In this photo, Pierre
and Mr. Crack congratulate the club President, Lucille
Poulin.
Pierre
hosted Gary Low and Merv
Buske of Navan and
Vars at the Parliamentary Restaurant. They
were the recipients of one of Pierre's ‘Lunch
with Your MP' certificates.
Pierre visited John Edwards of Navan to present him with a framed copy of the
full-page article done on John in the Ottawa Citizen on his skills as a ferrier.
Pierre attended the 7th Annual Clarence-Rockland
Girl’s
Hockey Association Lightning Icebreaker Tournament held
at the Hockey Academy in Rockland. Pierre presented
participation medals to the youngest players.
For ‘Take a Student to Work’ day, Pierre
hosted Grade 9 students Nicolas D’Aoust of Embrun and Joel
Charbonneau of Limoges at Parliament
Hill. They enjoyed a tour of Parliament Hill, lunch in
the Parliamentary Restaurant and Question Period as part
of their day.
Pierre supported
Brian Monty at his extremely successful fundraiser
in Vankleek Hill. Pierre explained
that the funds raised would help purchase new
equipment that would allow Brian to continue
crafting his beautiful hand-made Monty guitars
for which he is renowned.
Pierre met with over 60 students
from the Canadian International Hockey Academy in Rockland. The
CIHA has had a very successful enrolment with international
students attending from Switzerland, Czech Republic, the United
States and Russia. Pierre took the opportunity to explain the
work of an MP and the workings of Canadian democracy
Pierre hosted Jim Campbell and
his wife Suzanne of Russell township at Parliament Hill. The
Campbells had won one of Pierre’s famous “Lunch
at Parliament Hill” certificates.
Pierre
and his wife Audrey attended the Maxville
and District Chamber of Commerce 20th Anniversary
Dinner in Maxville. They joined business owners from the
region and are seen here with Councillor Carma
Williams and Deputy Mayor Chris
McDonell.
Pierre congratulated the Lapointe family
for the grand opening of the Russell Meadows Retirement
Community. He
is seen here presenting an MP certificate to Alain,
Lucie, Eric and Francois Lapointe to mark this special occasion.
December 16, 2011 Pierre Announces Wireless High-speed Internet Access
for More Than 8,000 GPR Residents

The Canada-Ukraine
Parliamentary Program chose Pierre to be a recipient
of a Ukrainian student intern. Maryna Iaroshevych of Kiev, Ukraine joined Pierre’s MP office for
9 weeks to learn about Canada’s parliamentary democracy. She
had the opportunity to work in his Ottawa office, visit
his riding offices, work at the International Ploughing
Match and attend a number of events throughout the riding. She
was very impressed with the warm hospitality of the people
of Glengarry–Prescott–Russell and the close relationship
between residents and their MP.
Pierre and
MPP Grant Crack attended the 100th anniversary inaugural celebration
of St Mathieu Catholic Church in Hammond. The president
of the organizing committee, Madame
Normand,
and her team organized a community brunch after
a special Mass celebrated by Archbishop Terrence
Prendergast. Over 350 people attended
the brunch!
Pierre
invited all of the Mayors from Prescott-Russell
to lunch on Parliament Hill. It was a
good opportunity to discuss together important
municipal and federal issues from across the
riding. This photo was taken in the Rotunda

Pierre joined the Russell community in honouring
Dick Sherwood, for his many contributions
to Russell, by naming a hiking trail on Forced Road
as
‘Sherwood Trail.’ Pierre presented Dick
with an MP medal to recognize this historic occasion and to thank Mr. Sherwood
for all that he has given to the community, particularly the Scouting movement.
Pierre was in Alexandria
for the grand opening of their 6th
Annual Festival of Lights! The
Festival consists of over 200,000 Christmas
lights in the park. Pierre is seen here
next to a model of Parliament that is part
of the Festival of Lights.
Pierre
joined Brigitte Williams and her team at their
Embrun Snowsuit Campaign Fundraising Spaghetti
Dinner. The Snowsuit
Fund has given away more than 300 snowsuits
to children in need throughout the riding.

November 10, 2011 Pierre Announces $1 Million for Ontario Agriculture
Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture, Pierre
announces $1 million for agriculture at the Royal Agricultural
Fair
While announcing $1 million for Ontario farmers at
the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, Pierre
met Horace Nixon from Vankleek Hill in the
stands.
Pierre addressed pork farmers from across Canada at the Canada Pork Council
Reception at Parliament Hill. Pierre acknowledged the difficult years
that pork farmers have had to survive and congratulated them on the much improved
current market conditions. He also acknowledged the important contributions that
pork farmers make to Canada and to the 100+ countries to which they export

Tiger in Hawkesbury. The brand new
Giant Tiger is 30 per cent bigger than the
old Giant Tiger and has created additional
employment for the people of Hawkesbury.
Pierre explained to those present that the
son of the founding Giant Tiger family is Scott
Reid, one of his
Conservative colleagues on Parliament Hill.
